Barkers K9 Hydro-Physio

Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions which govern the booking and use of the hydrotherapy sessions at Barkers K9 (“We”, “Us”, “Our”) by you.

Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your hydrotherapy treatment so the session ahead of you is not disturbed.

Please ensure your pet has emptied their bowel and bladder before coming to the centre.  Please do not allow you dog to foul in the garden centre site,  there is a public open space opp the garden centre where you can take your dog if needed. If your dog does foul please ensure you pick it up and take it home.  There is recorded CCTV across the entire site.

If your pet defecates in the pool/treadmill, a charge of £50 will be made as the pool/treadmill will then need to be closed for thorough cleaning.

If you arrive up to 10 minutes late for your hydrotherapy treatment, your pet’s session time may be reduced accordingly. If you are over 10 minutes late we may not be able to accommodate your session, however the full session charge may still apply.

We require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation. If notice of cancellation is provided after this time then the full session charge may still apply.

The hydrotherapist will assess your pet each time they see them, prior to the session. The length of session will depend on their age, breed, fitness level, health condition and other factors. The session time includes pre- and post-swim activity and can range from a few minutes up to 20 minutes of actual hydro time.

The Vet Referral Form must be completed and returned by your vet prior to your pet undergoing any treatment.

You must inform us of any changes to your pet’s health or medication since completion of the Vet Referral Form so we can take this into consideration. Certain conditions, such as ear, eye or skin infections or gastric upset may be exacerbated by the chlorinated water. If you are in any doubt of the health of your pet, please contact the centre with at least 48hrs notice. Normal cancellation conditions will apply if sufficient notice is not given.

You must make the Hydrotherapist fully aware of any handling issues/likes/dislikes your pet may have so we can safeguard our staff and your pet.

Barkers shall not be liable for any injury or damage howsoever caused to your pet during a hydrotherapy session, including but not limited to any claim arising from any condition of your pet that is either known or unknown to us, other than in respect of any injury or damage arising as a result of Barkers K9 negligence.

Bitches in season should NOT attend their therapy session.

We recommend that your dog is fully vaccinated against Leptospirosis, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, and Canine Parvovirus. Whilst we make every effort to ensure hygiene and infection control processes are in place we are unable to guarantee that there will be no cross- contamination and will not be held liable for any such cross-contamination. You may wish to consider vaccinating your dog against kennel cough.

Please allow at least 48 hours before and after your pet’s session to apply topical flea or worming treatment to your pet, otherwise the water will wash away the treatment and thus make it ineffective.

We reserve the right to cancel or change any session due to unforeseen circumstances such as a pet defecating in the pool, power failure, maintenance or illness. We will do our upmost to contact you as soon as possible if such matter occurs.

All therapy treatments must be paid in full, before or at the time of the session.

When visiting Barkers K9 hydrotherapy centre, you are advised to wear clean non-slip shoes and sensible clothing as the pool area may become slippery and wet during your pet’s session.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we cannot allow children under the age of 18 past the hydrotherapy reception into the pool area. Children under the age of 18 also may not be left unattended by their parents or guardians anywhere on the premises and staff cannot assume responsibility for them so we would urge you to keep this in mind when booking your appointment.
